Hypnotherapy how does it work?
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we enter into many times a day, for example when we are daydreaming, just before we go to sleep and even when we are watching television and can be described as nothing more than a relaxed focus.

It is in this trance like state that the conscious part of your mind is bypassed and we have more access to the subconscious. We also know that this is when we are most susceptible to suggestion.

In a therapeutic setting hypnosis provides a very powerful tool to access subconscious patterns of thought and behavior and resolve issues that lie beyond the capabilities of conscious resolve.

Hypnotherapy – What to expect:
The first session will last between one and a half to two hours. We will start with discussing what you want to deal with and what you would like to achieve from your therapy. We will then discuss what may be involved in the process and answer any questions you may have.
Hypnotherapy – How many sessions are required?
That will vary from person to person and what we are working on, for instance smoking will in most cases take one session as in most cases we are just dealing with a habit. With other problems we help you change the old behaviour and create a new more appropriate pattern of behaviour. Sometimes issues of self worth need to be looked at and changed to something more positive. Some people are very motivated and make the changes quickly whereas some people need a bit more time. After each session we can discuss your progress and what would be best for you.
You will never be asked to commit to a long course of therapy you do not need.
